  • 1 egg-white
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 10 oz pecan-halves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white-sugar


  • Time to make is 10 minutes to whip up and then baking.
  • Preheat oven to 250.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and spray foil with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add sugar, cinnamon and salt and mix well.
  • Beat water and egg white in a mixer for about 2-3 minutes until light and frothy, but not stiff- this is an egg wash.
  • Add pecans to egg mixture stirring to evenly coat.
  • Pour sugar mixture over pecans stirring well to evenly coat.
  • Pour pecans onto prepared baking sheet.
  • Spread pecans in a single layer (or as best as possible) so they are not stacked on each other and bake for 45-60 minutes, flipping with a spatula every 15 minutes. Mine are usually dont at the 40-45 minute mark.
  • Let cool completely before serving.
  • Makes 2-1/2 cups.


Serve candied pecans on top of pie or on vanilla ice cream for a seriously delicious crunch!
