Ingredients
1egg-white
1tbspwater
10ozpecan-halves
1/2tspcinnamon
1/2tspsalt
1cupwhite-sugar
Instructions
Time to make is 10 minutes to whip up and then baking.
Preheat oven to 250.
Line a baking sheet with foil and spray foil with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, add sugar, cinnamon and salt and mix well.
Beat water and egg white in a mixer for about 2-3 minutes until light and frothy, but not stiff- this is an egg wash.
Add pecans to egg mixture stirring to evenly coat.
Pour sugar mixture over pecans stirring well to evenly coat.
Pour pecans onto prepared baking sheet.
Spread pecans in a single layer (or as best as possible) so they are not stacked on each other and bake for 45-60 minutes, flipping with a spatula every 15 minutes. Mine are usually dont at the 40-45 minute mark.
Let cool completely before serving.
Makes 2-1/2 cups.
Notes
Serve candied pecans on top of pie or on vanilla ice cream for a seriously delicious crunch!
