Apple Pecan Fall Salad – This Fall Salad with Apples and Pecans is Ideal for Fall! Made with greens, apples, pears, craisins, pecans and blue cheese and then topped with honey mustard dressing this salad recipe is excellent for a holiday or only a hearty lunch!
Mix it up by changing out the blue cheese to get feta or the pecans for walnuts, and this particular salad is super versatile. I love this salad with a Gala, Fuji, or Jonathan apples, but you can use what you have. This salad could be great next to the creamy tomato bisque soup using this particular three-ingredient beer bread on the other side.
The other day, I think it was while we’re apple picking with all the children; it happened to me how eager I am for the vacations. Every year I love seeing my kids do all of the autumn and winter holiday thing — picking out their Halloween costumes, seeing family for Thanksgiving, opening all the presents, then it’s finished, then I forget.
We go apple picking at precisely the exact same place, and that was the very first year it felt like we had three KIDS with us rather than one kid and a kid or two kids and a baby. There were no diaper bags, and there was no carrying kiddo in a back pack, it was only our three kids walking through the orchard and also us. It was bizarre, but also wonderful. And my loved ones spoiled me. They had been handing me all of the apples to make sure they were ones that I prefer to eat or that would be good for baking. Gavin looked at the list and pointed to some trees said,”Oooo, we will need to find people! They are supposed to be good on salads! Mother enjoys salads!” Isn’t the sweetest?
HOW TO MAKE AN APPLE PECAN FALL SALAD
This is a twist on a salad I had while I was hanging with Iowa Corn (more about this next week, they are fantastic!) . It had been made out of greens, fresh corn, apples, pears, blue cheese, pecans, craisins, and this superb light dressing. I couldn’t find sweet corn when I was creating this one, but the other flavours held it together flawlessly! This salad made an excellent lunch for me (my family knows me well), or it would be a different side for a holiday get together, mainly because it comes so fast.
